  The Durban University of Technology honouring   Steve Biko The year 2023 marks 16 years anniversary of unveiling the Bantu Steven Biko statue at Durban University of Technology. On 19 September 2007 Durban University of Technology honoured the South African anti-apartheid activist who was known as a hero that led organizations that fought against the apartheid regime of racial segregation and white supremacy in South Africa. Steve Biko was an anti apartheid activist that hate the idea of that lot of organizations were white dominance, while it was black people who were most affected by the apartheid. He played a key role in forming organizations such as Black Consciousness Movement and South African Students that were fighting against the oppression of black people. In recognition of Steve Biko for his contribution to the liberation of South Africa , Durban University of Technology named one of it main campuses after him. THE FISRT BALLOT OF THE LATE NELSON MANDELA INANDA Nelson Mandela was released from prison in 1990 after spending 27 years in jail. On 27 April, 1994 Mandela cast his first ballot vote at Inanda, KwaZulu Natal. This event took place at Ohlange High School because Mandela was honoring a hero who played a role in the South African liberation struggle, John Langalibalele Dube. He was a founder of SANNC, and he fought for blacks to get proper education. This Inanda Museum is beneficial for the history, especially for the next generation, to have proper understanding of where the country came from. Inside the Museum, there is part of what was happening during the elections and the words Mandela was emphasizing when he voted. KING DINUZULU KA CETSHWAYO ON HIS ROLE AGAINST COLONIALISM

  King Dinuzulu Ka Cetshwayo on his role against colonialism King Dinuzulu kaCetshwayo was the king of the Zulu nation who played a role in fighting colonialism in South Africa. He was born in the year 1868 in a small town called Babanango, and he died on 18 October 1913. He started ruling the Zulu nation on 20 May 1884 after the death of his father King Cetshwayo. The statue of King Dinuzulu was built in Durban, the lower end of Berea Road next to City Campus. It was built next to the statue of Louis Botha as a sign of bringing peace between the Zulus and white people. The government thought that it was significant for these two statues to stand side by side, because Louis Botha facilitated the release of King Dinuzulu from prison. JOHN LANGALIBALELE DUBE ANDTHE HISTORY OF OHLANGE HIGH SCHOOL

  John Langalibalele Dube and the History of O hlange High School. John Langalibalele Dube and Nokuthela Mndima founded Ohlange high school in 1902. Their aim was to give Black people proper education. Dube had no funding and he built the school from scratch with his own money and resources. Inanda heritage site is located within Ohlange high school. The site does not only include Dube’s history but includes Isaiah Mdliwamafa Shembe, Mahatma Gandhi, Nelson Rolihlahla Mandela, and other leaders who fought for democracy. On the site, there are two statues of Mandela and Dube. The statue of Nelson Mandela was put on the site because it was the first place he voted at after being released from prison.
